If I come into possession of more assets, how do I transfer them into my trust?

If you acquire new assets after setting up your trust, they typically should be titled in the name of the trust or have the trust named as the beneficiary, depending on the asset type. For example, real estate can be deeded to the trust, bank accounts can be titled in the name of the trust, and retirement accounts may list the trust as a contingent beneficiary (when appropriate). Please reach out to us if you have any questions about the appropriate step for a new asset.
