If there is a 3rd party on an account (ex. a child or a parent), can changes be made to include my trust? Why/Why not?

If there’s a third party listed as a co-owner on an account, such as a child or parent, you generally can’t transfer that account into your trust without their consent, because they legally share ownership. To include the account in your trust, the other party would need to agree to retitle it or be removed. In many cases, it’s better to open a new account in the name of the trust or adjust beneficiary designations, depending on your goals.
