What is the difference between a Trustee and Executor?

An Executor manages your estate after you die through the probate process. A Trustee manages your trust during your life (if needed), after your death, or both, without court involvement. Trusts can also be used to manage assets long-term, while an executor’s role ends when the estate is settled.
